About

The Full Story

CollabroArt is a community-driven film education and production company for creatives who are ready to work, not just dream.

We’re here for the filmmakers, writers, directors, actors, editors, and producers who know they have something to say, but haven’t been given a clear, practical path to say it on screen. Our mission is simple:

Create real opportunities. Build real credits. Premiere real work.

We live in that space where storytelling, education, and operations all meet, because beautiful ideas still need real structure if they’re ever going to reach an audience.

How It Started

Long before CollabroArt had a name, there was just a very specific dream: owning a movie theater.

Not just any theater, a place where stories felt intentional. A home where independent films didn’t have to beg for a random Tuesday afternoon slot, but got premieres, red carpets, and audiences who actually showed up on purpose.

Our founder, Andrea Howard, spent years in operations and business administration across nonprofits, churches, and theaters. Eventually, she went back to school for film, expecting a clear roadmap to directing and producing. Instead, she found something many creatives recognize: tons of theory, not a lot of “here’s how you actually make a film and get it out into the world.”

Andrea knew she had enough experience in operations to figure out the logistics. But she also knew one important truth:

You don’t make a film alone.

So she tried something very simple and very human. She posted on Facebook:

“Does anyone want to make a film?”

People said yes.

An interest meeting turned into a team. A team turned into a script. That script evolved into FACADE—a psychological thriller feature written, directed, and executive produced by Andrea, built with an all-Black ensemble and a mix of emerging and experienced cast and crew.

CollabroArt grew out of that process, not just as a one-time production, but as a working model for how we could keep doing this again and again.

What We Do

CollabroArt is a for-profit, community-driven film education and production platform designed to close the gap between:

     “I want to make films”
     and
“I have finished films, credits, and a path to distribution.”

We focus on three main areas:

Production

We develop and produce narrative projects, features, shorts, and immersive audio dramas—with a focus on psychological thrillers, grounded dramas, and character-driven stories.

Our work includes:

  • FAÇADE – psychological thriller feature

  • NA – 45-minute psychological drama short

  • In Closed – psychological thriller short

  • Cyrus – short film (Executive Produced)

  • Hi Friend & Eterna – immersive audio drama podcasts

Every project is designed to be two things at once:
a strong piece of storytelling and a real-world training ground for the people working on it.

Education in Motion

We don’t believe in teaching film only as a hypothetical.

Our approach is “earn as you learn” That means creatives get:

  • Hands-on roles in active productions

  • IMDb and portfolio credits

  • Opportunities to shadow, assist, and grow into leadership positions over time

Workshops, labs, and mentorship are tied to real scripts, schedules, and deadlines, not just lectures in a classroom.

Exhibition & Premiere Experience

We’re working toward a long-term vision: a dedicated independent movie theater created specifically to support independent premieres, a home where films like Façade can launch with full red-carpet treatment, great sound and picture, and audiences who come ready to engage.

Our goal is to build a pipeline where filmmakers can:

  • Learn and collaborate on real projects

  • Build a body of work

  • Premiere their films in a theatrical setting with red carpets, audiences, and strategic promotion

Façade’s premiere at the Historic Ritz Theater is an important milestone on the road to that dedicated independent premiere venue.

What We Believe

Talent is everywhere. Access is not.
We prioritize emerging and underrepresented voices both in front of and behind the camera.

Art needs infrastructure.
We build systems, budgets, workflows, schedules, and partner relationships, so creativity doesn’t have to fight chaos just to survive.

Learning should be practical.
We believe in giving people real responsibilities, feedback, and credits, not just advice from the sidelines.

Stories can be bold and responsible at the same time.
We aim for psychologically rich, emotionally honest storytelling while maintaining safe, respectful sets where people are treated well.

Where We’re Going

We’re building toward a future where independent filmmakers don’t just hope for an opportunity—they can actually see the path:

Idea → Development → Production → Premiere → Distribution and beyond.

CollabroArt is expanding its slate of films, audio projects, and education offerings while laying the groundwork for that dedicated independent movie theater, a space designed to champion independent premieres, nurture creative communities, and keep new stories on the big screen.
